The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) released an interim report in December 2018 looking at racial profiling and discrimination by Toronto police toward the city’s black community. Although the light is being shed on implicit and unconscious biases with the Toronto Police Department (TPD), understanding the difference between systemic and unconscious biases is critical to knowing that this problem is for all of us to solve.

Leesa Renée Hall is a mental health advocate with a deep interest in human behaviour and psychology. She's the Founder and Lead Tour Guide of Inner Field Trip®, a community helping Highly Sensitive, Highly Perceptive, Deep Feeling and Neurodivergent people explore unconscious biases so they protect their energy, be on the side of justice, and become better ancestors. As a counselling psychology graduate student, Leesa uses evidence based methods, such as play, music, expressive arts, and expressive writing to help her clients meet their Inner Oppressor so they decolonize and deconstruct while enhancing their self-awareness and self-compassion.
