Biography

Sidrah Ahmad is the Founder of the Rivers of Hope Project on Islamophobic Violence - a research-based initiative to support Muslim women survivors of Islamophobic harassment and abuse. In 2017, Ahmad conducted a research project on Islamophobic violence at the University of Toronto, in which she interviewed 21 Muslim women survivors of Islamophobic violence from across the GTA. She complied the results of this research into the Rivers of Hope Toolkit, which is available online at riversofhopetoolkit.ca.

Ahmad works in anti-violence against women public education at OCASI (www.ocasi.org) and is a fierce advocate for the rights of Muslim women and girls. She holds a Master of Arts in Adult Education and Community Development from the University of Toronto.
