Michelle Savard, PhD candidate in Education, compares approaches to the reintegration of war-affected and formerly abducted young mothers in Northern Uganda to determine which is most effective in enhancing social inclusion, well-being and economic stability.
Michelle Savard is keenly interested in peace education and child protection, her research examines both the marginalization and the reintegration of formerly abducted young mothers in Northern Uganda. She has more than 20 years of experience designing, delivering and managing educational programs both nationally and internationally, which includes training for educators, police peacekeepers and social workers. She has co-edited a prestigious journal and coordinated the delivery of international conferences.

Biography
Michelle Savard is a doctoral student in Education at Concordia University and will defend her thesis in March 2019. Keenly interested in peace education, gender equity and child protection, her research examines both the marginalization and the reintegration of formerly abducted young mothers in Northern Uganda. She has more than 20 years of experience designing, delivering, evaluating, and managing educational programs both nationally and internationally, which includes training for educators, police peacekeepers, NGO staff and social workers. She has published widely, co-edited an academic journal, and coordinated the delivery of international conferences.
