Dr. Catarina C. Ferreira is a multilingual, senior-level conservation biologist equipped with strong scientific knowledge across major biodiversity conservation issues. Catarina is a leader, manager, and communicator with extensive professional connections and global networks reaching academic and non-academic circles. She is a skilled researcher with a solid track record of high-impact publications in terrestrial ecology, endangered species conservation, wildlife and ecosystem management with vast experience in providing policy support to senior management in these fields. Catarina is also a project, program, and initiative coordinator with extensive Canadian and international work experience. She currently works for Environment and Climate Change Canada in the Protected Areas Directorate as a Senior Conservation Scientist and Coordinator of Environmental Programs, and is a Guest Scientist of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ (Leipzig, Germany).
