Biography

Freshta Hemmati is an Afghan journalist and a women’s rights activist from Afghanistan. She earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Afghanistan and a master's degree in International Relations with a major in diplomacy from Kazakhstan. In 2022, Hemmati started on a new chapter in her life, settling in Canada, where she now calls home. With a career spanning over eight years, Hemmati has made a profound impact as an investigative reporter, engaging radio host, and adept communications specialist across various media channels and international projects in Afghanistan. She is now serving as the CEO of the Afghanistan Journalists Support Organization (AJSO).
