Biography
Lauren Pires is an invisible disability speaker on resilience and belonging. Named #2 Inspirational Speaker of the Year in North America's largest inspirational speaking competition (Speaker Slam, 2023), recognized globally as a D-30 Disability Impact List honoree (Diversability, 2024), “But You LOOK Good” Inspiration Award winner (Invisible Disabilities Association, 2023) and the only Invisible Disabilities Association Ambassador in Canada, Pires was born with Central Core Disease, a rare neuromuscular disorder. Although she lives with 33% strength of the average person, Pires is known for her yay-saying and 100% spirit. Pires has been featured on Breakfast Television, CityNews Toronto, RareDiseaseDay.org, GlobalNews.ca and more.
