Biography

Prof. Shelley Clark is a demographer whose research focuses on gender, health, and life course transitions in sub-Saharan Africa. After receiving her Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1999, Clark served as program associate at the Population Council in New York (1999 to 2002) and as an Assistant Professor at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago (2002 to 2006). In the summer of 2006, she joined the Department of Sociology at McGill. Clark is the founding Director of the Centre on Population Dynamics and also directs the CFI-funded Life History, Health, and HIV/AIDS data laboratory.
