Communicate more Strategically with Communications Expert Shari Graydon (Online)

Our workshops are open to women and gender-diverse individuals only.
You communicate multiple times every day and sometimes people on the receiving end respond as you’d like. But sometimes they don’t. This workshop will help you increase your effectiveness.
We break down the components of the process and provide proven strategies. You arrive at the workshop having identified arenas in which you want to become more impactful, and then learn and practice applying a strategic frame and research-supported approaches relevant to a wide range of personal and professional communication situations.
You’ll learn how to:
- Apply a strategic frame to enhance your effectiveness in high-stakes communication situations
- Critically assess your own and others’ communications to identify and eliminate obstacles to success
- Increase the likelihood your communications will be seen and elicit the desired response
The course includes:
- An advance workshop survey inviting participants to identify communication situations relevant to them, which allows us to tailor the training to their needs
- Two 2-hour online sessions spaced one week apart to provide an opportunity to reflect on and apply strategies shared
- Session 1 introduces the tools and strategies, and includes two practical exercises
- Session 2 gives each participant the opportunity to test the tools on a communication situation of their choice and receive individual feedback
- An hour of homework in between the sessions to apply the tools and draft a written or verbal message to test with the cohort
Facilitator and Informed Opinions Catalyst, Shari Graydon brings a wealth of knowledge, drawing on her 30 years of experience in politics, journalism, public relations and teaching. She has trained thousands of women and gender-diverse individuals to effectively communicate their insights and influence public opinion through the media and in person, in writing and through presentations. Shari creates a dynamic and supportive learning environment where participants feel comfortable exploring new techniques and concepts.
