After an extensive national search initiated by Informed Opinions’ (IO) Catalyst and CEO, Shari Graydon, IO’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Price as its new Chief Executive Officer. Kate will assume the primary leadership role, allowing Shari to fulfill her goal of transitioning into a more content-focused portfolio.
“The Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Kate to the organization,” says IO Board Chair Mona Ghiami. “Her wealth of experience in change management, fundraising, and governance will prepare Informed Opinions for a new chapter and build on Shari’s incredible 15-year legacy. Kate brings an exceptional combination of skills, experience, and commitment to social change to take Informed Opinions to the next level, especially in a shifting social and media landscape.”
An accomplished fundraiser and nonprofit strategist, Kate joined the IO team in July to complete an organizational audit before taking over the CEO portfolio. She will work closely with the staff and board to steer IO into a new chapter of sustainable growth and impact, continuing the vital work of amplifying the voices of women and gender-diverse people.
Shari Graydon will retain her role as Catalyst, focusing on developing and delivering workshops, keynotes and mentorship in support of the organization’s mandate. An award-winning author and women’s advocate, Shari conceived of and has led IO since its inception in 2010, providing strategic vision and helping to amplify the voices of thousands of women across Canada.
“I’m delighted to be working with and seeing Informed Opinions benefit from Kate’s insightful analysis and robust management experience,” says Shari Graydon. “ She has introduced systems and practices to streamline impact and financial reporting, manage projects, and prepare us for fundraising success. She possesses skills complementary to mine, making me confident her leadership will support Informed Opinions in delivering on its promise while allowing me to focus on the programming pieces I’m best at.”
