This week, Jonathan speaks with Haskayne School of Business instructor Catherine Heggerud about the $2.7-billion US fine levied against Google by the European Commission, which alleged the company committed anti-trust violations pertaining to Google’s Shopping search comparison service.

Biography

Catherine Heggerud holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (specializing in marketing and finance), and a Master of Business Administration (strategic management & organizational development), both from the University of Alberta. Heggerud is excited to be joining the University of Southern California, Doctor of Education Program in organizational change and leadership in 2018.

As a participant in the Women’s Executive Network Wisdom Top 100 Mentoring Program, Heggerud was mentored by influential leader Margaret-Ann Armour, University of Alberta Faculty of Science’s associate dean of diversity.

Heggerud has over 20 years of experience in technology organizations, specializing in organizational transformations, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change management.

As a professional, Heggerud has consistently demonstrated that she is an outstanding relationship builder and facilitator across the banking, telecommunications, energy and volunteer sectors. She is an inclusive leader who has repeatedly led teams to successful development and execution of shared visions and plans, consistently scoring in the top quartile of employee engagement scores.

Deeply involved in her community, Heggerud feels very strongly about sharing her talents in the interests of helping create a better world.
