Helen Wetherley Knight, MBA

Helen leads digital transformations in the nonprofit space. She is an award-winning information technology leader, voted Transformation Leader of Canada in 2019, and winner of the Canadian Digital Transformation award. Wetherley Knight led the three-year digital transformation of the Calgary Drop-In Centre, and now consults to numerous nonprofits, helping them increase efficiency and multiply the impact of their missions with the meaningful application of technology.

Biography
Helen Wetherley Knight is an accomplished Information Technology (IT) leader possessing significant experience at driving transformation. The catalyst for Wetherley Knight's career ignited when she learned to program at the age of nine. It was the spark that would fuel her love of IT over the next thirty-five years. Wetherley Knight joined the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society, the largest homeless shelter in North America, as the Director of IT in October 2016. She drove a multi-phase transformational IT project delivering significant and meaningful impact to the lives of their clients, and now leads her own nonprofit focused on improving the efficiency of all charities by 20% through the meaningful application of technology.
Wetherley Knight's education includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA), certifications in project management (PMP), change management (PROSCI), and Microsoft certifications in Systems Engineering (MCSE), Database Administration (MCDBA), and Solution Design (MCSE). She serves on the CIO Association of Canada Board, and the Women In Technology Network Board, the University of Calgary’s Arts & Science Advisory Board and is an advocate for increasing gender diversity in IT careers through her work with explore-it.ca and women-in-technology-training.
