Biography

Jane Armstrong has over 30 years experience in the research industry. Much of her experience was gained at an established Canadian research consultancy, where she was a partner and group vice president.

Her experience and reputation as a senior researcher is evident given the depth and breadth of studies that she has conducted over the years, including several syndicated tracking surveys on the public policy issues of the day. In addition, she enjoys a reputation that extends beyond the specific relationships she has developed with her clients.

Armstrong has authored a host of articles for peer-reviewed academic journals, the popular press and various trade/specialty journals. Over the years, she has been called upon many times by the media and at conferences to speak about her work and has been recognized several times for her accomplishments, including receiving an MRIA award for leading the “Best Multinational Research Project” in 2005 – a study that involved research on public attitudes toward health care in 23 countries.

Further to this, Armstrong is a former director of the WLU’s Laurier Institute for Public Opinion and Policy (LISPOP) and has been established as an expert witness in several court proceedings in this country. She has conducted research for and been a witness to other tribunal proceedings, including the Canadian Radio and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
