Biography

Andria Bianchi, PhD is a Bioethicist at the University Health Network and an Assistant Professor (status-only) at the University of Toronto, Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Her doctoral research considered the ethics of sexual decision-making and persons with dementia. Bianchi has published on intellectual disability and sexuality, the ethics of wearable devices in healthcare, harm reduction, eating disorders, and transgender women in sport, to name a few. In addition to her academic research, she is a Board member of the Canadian Association of Practicing Healthcare Ethicists, a Board member of Advanced Gerontological Education Inc., and on the Stakeholder Advisory Council of the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
