Attachment theory began with the study of the infant-parent dyad, but it has grown, with research now encompassing adolescence, adult romantic relationships, workplace relationships and even the relationship between providers and patients. If the ultimate goal is to provide excellence in patient outcomes, evidence is showing us that those caring for patients need to feel included, valued, and supported.

Biography
Ashley Miller is a practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist with a focus on whole family wellness. She's an interpersonal and family therapist who trains doctors and other clinicians in relationship-based therapies. Her areas of advocacy include child and family wellness, parent mental health, decreasing health and economic inequities, and improving systems of care for vulnerable families. She speaks and writes publicly about these issues.
