Dr. Richardson’s previous clinical experience includes paediatric haematology/oncology nursing and family care coordination. She joined the Dalhousie Faculty in 2001 and teaches in the undergraduate program with a focus on care of children and families, palliative care, and foundations of nursing practice. Research includes the use of hermeneutic phenomenology to better understand lived experiences of illness and spiritual health among children with cancer and cystic fibrosis and survey research to explore youth sexual health behaviours. More recently, Dr. Richardson has been working with nursing faculty from other Canadian universities to explore the use of competencies in palliative and end-of-life care education.
