Kristin Campbell, 2016 UBC Killam Research Fellow

Kristin Campbell is an associate professor in the UBC Department of Physical Therapy. Her research focuses on the potential of exercise to help reduce the risk of cancer in women. She is a recipient of a 2016 Killam Research Fellowship.

Biography

Dr. Kristin Campbell, BSc.PT, PhD, is a physical therapist and research scientist who is leading the effort to understand the role of exercise in cancer prevention, rehabilitation, and suvivorship. Her group focuses on principles of exercise physiology, clinical trials methodology, and epidemiology to examine the beneficial effects of exercise and inform clinical practice. Campbell represented the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology at the recent American College of Sports Medicine Scientific Roundtable to update the exercise guidelines for cancer survivors and helped to develop the Cancer Exercise Specialist certification from the American College of Sports Medicine.
