Biography
Dr Emily Queenan is a family doctor from the U.S., graduate of the U Penn School of Med and University of Rochester Family Medicine Residency. After serving as chief resident, she opened a thriving full spectrum family medicine practice in Rochester, NY, USA. However, she became disillusioned by the injustice of the US healthcare system, and started to look north to Canada’s single payer universal health care system. In August 2015, she moved with her family to Midland and Penetanguishene, ON, where she has immersed herself both in the work of caring for patients in her family medicine with OB practice and in the systems work within Georgian Bay General Hospital and the broader region, most significantly in the arena of maternity care and women and children’s health. Queenan has served as VP of Medical Staff and recently been appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff of the hospital.
