Biography
A professional and expert in the retirement living industry, Amy Friesen has had the privilege of working with seniors and their families over the last 17 years in various retirement homes throughout Ottawa, and more recently through her own company Tea & Toast.
Friesen has developed a unique way to assist families through their retirement residence, or long-term care navigation. By using the Tea & Toast approach, families find what they are looking for in a fraction of the time it would take if they were conducting the search on their own. In addition, the homes that are selected fit the client and their needs to a TEA.
Friesen speaks with groups throughout the Ottawa area as a way of educating the public on the complicated retirement home and long-term care home system. She is always looking for opportunities to expand education and assist families in the “seniors space” she has recently launched TheLocalSenior.com - an online search for seniors and families looking for services specific to senior wants and needs.
Friesen has been recognized by the House of Commons for her 2018 Businesswoman of the Year award as well as her 2019 Forty Under 40 award. The Tea & Toast team is also honoured to have received the Corporate Engagement Award of Excellence from The Good Companions in 2018.
