Biography

Dr. Shoshanah Jacobs (they/them) is an associate professor in the department of integrative biology. Their research is split along three branches unified by systems thinking. Their research in post-secondary education is currently focussed on accessibility and inclusivity in teaching and learning foundational skills across siloed programs. Their work on biomimetics is developing a transdisciplinary curriculum in sustainable design thinking. Their research in seabird foraging ecology focuses on how biological models can inform us about our environment. Winner of the Distinguished Professor for excellence in teaching and equal women of distinction, Jacobs is committed to opening up the university to community for the betterment of society.
