Biography

Shauna Rempel is a social media strategist and trainer. As of 2020, she's been part of the leadership team of the Office of Communications at University of Toronto Mississauga. Previously she was the National Managing Editor for Social Media, Content Editing and Distribution, as well as the national point person for editing and distributing Global News and Corus Radio content. Rempel oversaw the award-winning social media and syndication team, as well as the centralized copy editing desk. She also managed the team responsible for beaming headlines to digital screens, which are seen by millions of Canadians each week. Before that she was the social media team editor at Toronto Star. There she worked on several award-winning projects and led training and development initiatives. Rempel is a graduate of Carleton University’s Master of Journalism program and has taught digital journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University, University of Guelph-Humber and Centennial College.
