Biography

Sandi is the Business Development Leader for the Muskoka Community Land Trust, a nonprofit that acquires and stewards land for the benefit of the community. At the direction of the MCLT Board, Sandi works with community organizations, elected officials and staff at the federal, provincial, district, and township levels, and community members to advance public education, build support, and foster robust engagement in current and future projects that include green, beautiful housing (rental and ownership models), public spaces, community gardens, and social enterprise.

Sandi's background is in finance, and she left retail banking in 2013 to found Spring Personal Finance, which merged with JYC Financial in 2017 to form Spring Planning Inc. In 2023 Sandi left Spring to return to solo practice as an advice-only financial planner working with select clients by referral only.

In 2014, Sandi began co-hosting the Because Money podcast, which ran for six seasons (but no movie), and co-founded and subsequently sold AutoInvest.ca, a free online tool that helped Canadians determine the best robo-advisor for their unique situation.

Sandi co-founded the Advice Only Planners Forum in 2014, a knowledge sharing and collaboration network. In 2017, Sandi joined the FPAC launch team and served on the Executive as Secretary until 2023. She was instrumental in bringing the Advice Only Planners Forum under the FPAC umbrella, where it carries on as a special interest group with regular monthly meetings and peer support.
