Five days after the election, Alyson Fair and her colleagues gather to talk about what lies ahead, what the parties should be doing to prevent another election in 18 months and leadership.
Biography
Born and raised in the Niagara region, Alyson Fair came to the Nation’s Capital to study at Carleton University and never left.
She joined the Bluesky team just before the 2019 election following a 20-year career that began in communications and then journalism within the local and national CTV newsrooms in Ottawa. As the Senior Producer for Power Play, she helped shape the political stories of the day and established relationships with many Members of Parliament, their staff, and Canada’s top political minds. It is through these experiences that she has developed a strong understanding of how and why media works.
Since joining Bluesky, Alyson has used her networks and experience to secure media opportunities with all of the country’s major television and print outlets, produced Bluesky’s newsletter, The Bluesky Brief and produces and edits Bluesky's podcast: "What You Need to Know: #ACdnPolicast". Aside from her career achievements, Fair also has a strong commitment to volunteerism. It is through these community relationships that she has been able to expand her management and planning skills.
In addition to her degree from Carleton, Alyson is a graduate of Algonquin College and is currently part of the graduate program in public relations at the University of Victoria.
