Biography
Stephanie Cowle is Director, Knowledge Translation for Parachute, Canada’s national charity dedicated to injury prevention. Injury is the no. 1 cause of death in Canada for people ages 1 to 34, and Parachute works to end preventable injuries – those occurring everywhere from motor vehicle collisions to when an older person trips on a scatter rug and breaks a hip. Cowle has worked in the injury prevention field for more than a decade and is an experienced spokesperson who can explain how to prevent injuries at home, in sports and recreation, and on our roads. She has led Parachute’s national work in sports-related concussion recognition and management and has also spoken to the media about car seats, pedestrian safety, preventing drownings and home safety for children.
