Biography

Dr. Vanessa Blais-Tremblay is a musicologist and women’s studies scholar. She is an associate professor at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), postdoctoral fellow at the Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la littérature et la culture québécoises (CRILCQ), and she teaches music history at École de Musique Vincent d’Indy. Blais-Tremblay's research focuses on issues of identity and social justice in music made by or about women. She is also a professional violinist.
