Biography

Dr. Valorie Crooks is a health geographer and Canada Research Chair who specializes in health services. She has undertaken research in countries as diverse as Mexico, Barbados, Jamaica, Mongolia, India, and the UAE. Her expertise relates to transnational health care mobilities (e.g., medical tourism, offshore medical schools). She has also been asked to speak to spatial issues related to health and health care, such as connections between risk-health-place, health care access, and the impact of borders and boundaries on health.
