Biography

Lisa Kearney is a cybersecurity veteran with over 20 years of experience in the workforce. For more than two decades, she has been working to secure networks, systems, and data for hundreds of companies around the globe. In 2009, Kearney started her own cybersecurity consulting corporation and often partnered with Canada’s top service providers. Working with government and Fortune 500 organizations on multi-million-dollar contracts, she gained invaluable insight across industries and security domains.

In April 2018, Kearney identified a gap and lack of support for women working in the cybersecurity industry; not only in Canada but around the globe. To address the gap, she started a non-profit, the Women CyberSecurity Society (WCS2), a global organization based in Vancouver, BC that provides support through programs and services to women and marginalized groups throughout their careers. WCS2 aims to build a more diverse and inclusive community by partnering with like-minded organizations to enhance services for the advancement and retention of these groups across the industry.
