Biography

Jasmine Hawamdeh is the Manager of Communications for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), an independent artist and community organizer. She is responsible for overseeing ADC’s media and public relations efforts, developing and implementing communications strategies, and amplifying the voice of the Arab-American community She has extensive experience engaging community members in policy through education and decision making opportunities. Hawamdeh lead a province-wide student strike against the cuts to education, mobilized and rallied students to vote in the federal election, and uses her art as an avenue for advocacy. She holds an iBBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, and has previously worked at various corporate and non-profit organizations. She is a third generation Palestinian-Canadian.
