Biography

As a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP™), Marni Panas provides a wide range of diversity and inclusion, health and community engagement consulting, and education services to a variety of clients. Panas uses her passions for meaningful engagement and collaboration to create positive change, nurture relationships, and improve experiences for all stakeholders. Examples of some of the services she provides to health care professional colleges and societies, health centres, municipal and education governments, community services organizations, police services and other first responders, corrections facilities, corporations, and other institutions locally, nationally and internationally include: diversity and inclusion public speaker on a variety of topics including leadership, living authentically, diversity and inclusion, LGBTQ2S+ cultural safety; Facilitation and consultation services: Creation and nurturing of advisory councils. Panas also provides expertise to various levels of government on legislation and policy related to human rights and inclusion. Most recently she was a member of the LGBTQ2S+ Apology Advisory Council which helped draft the apology Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered in the House of Commons on Tuesday, Nov 28, 2017 to LGBTQ2S+ people in Canada for discrimination and injustices faced by this community as a result of federal legislation, policies and programs. Months earlier she was also a witness at and provided testimony to the Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs in support of Bill C-16 (an Act to amend Canada’s Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code of Canada).
