Biography
Claudia Calabro is the Communications Specialist/Organizer at the Income Security Advocacy Centre (ISAC). ISAC is a specialty legal clinic which advances the systemic interests and rights of low-income and equity-seeking communities in Ontario. Calabro has worked in public affairs, governance, and advocacy for a decade, and holds post-secondary degrees in Political Science, Journalism, and Public Policy. Calabro coordinates external communications on the litigation, policy, and organizing work done at ISAC. She also engages in community organizing on social assistance issues such as improving access to government benefits and raising social assistance rates. Calabro believes that it is crucial to have the voices of people with lived experience featured in stories about the decisions that will impact their lives, as well as the voices of legal and policy experts who can speak to the impacts of legal decisions and new/upcoming policy directives on the lives of low-income Ontarians.
