Biography

Elsie Ikhariale is an advocate, legal researcher and lawyer who practices workplace law, particularly around #metoo issues. She conducts a wide range of workplace investigations, including those related to sexual harassment, gender-based discrimination, bullying, and other problematic behaviour. She has a particular expertise in conducting culturally responsive and trauma-informed investigations, and has extensive knowledge of workplace laws and legislations, all of which guide her work to ensure that her investigations are legally sound and defensible. Previously, Ikhariale was a human rights investigator at a large public district school board where she conducted investigations on behalf of the organization’s Human Rights Office into complaints received from students, teachers, and administrative staff. Ikhariale also has experience acting as legal counsel for complex legal projects on workplace sexual misconduct in the public and not-for-profit sectors. In this capacity, Ikhariale provided employment law advice, public legal education seminars, and project management to a variety of stakeholders.
