Biography

Marlisa Brown is Nihtat Gwich’in from Denendeh (Northwest Territories). She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree major in Anthropology and minor in French from MacEwan University and a Graduate Diploma in Indigenous Policy and Administration from Carleton University. Presently, she works with the Government of the Northwest Territories on the implementation of land claim and self-government agreements. She is also a co-founder of Treaty Talks NWT, a youth-led organization to provide space for youth to learn about treaties and Indigenous Governance. Treaty Talks NWT recently became Arctic Inspiration Prize Laureates (2022).
