Biography
Anna Matas is a Partner at St. Lawrence Barristers. Her litigation practice focuses on claims arising from sexual assault, sexual abuse, and other forms of violence or misconduct in both civil and administrative proceedings. Matas also represents regulated health care providers in connection with allegations of medical negligence, professional misconduct and other complaints, and provides advice on a wide range of privacy issues and investigates allegations of workplace misconduct in various settings. Additionally, Matas provides independent legal advice to survivors of sexual assault through a program funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General as well as through the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner’s Legal Aid Program. Matas is the Chair of the Board of the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic. She holds degrees in civil and common law from McGill University.
