Biography

Dr. Christine Sheppard is a Researcher at Wellesley Institute and an Assistant Professor in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. With more than 10 years of experience in community-based research on health and aging, she works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to understand needs and to create, implement and evaluate policies and programs that promote health equity, social inclusion and well-being for older adults. Sheppard received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in gerontology, and holds a PhD in Health Studies and Gerontology, with a focus on aging, health and well-being. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Sunnybrook Research Institute, specializing in seniors housing.
