Bill C-332 aims to protect against intimate partner violence
Biography
Rosanna Adams is a staff lawyer at Rise Women’s Legal Centre. Rise is a teaching clinic and a direct service organization working with folks with family law issues who are unable to afford adequate representation. Adams primarily provides virtual summary advice services to women across British Columbia who have experienced violence in their relationships. In addition, Adams provides legal education to legal professionals, including advocates and support workers, and participates in a range of consultations on legislative changes. This work has provided Adams with significant knowledge of the challenges of self-representing in a complex legal system. Adams has a juris doctorate from the University of Victoria and a bachelor of arts from the University of Toronto. Prior to working at Rise, she articled with Legal Aid Ontario in Sudbury and with a small firm in Victoria. Through these positions she gained a broad base of legal experience with a focus on family, administrative and criminal law.
