Dale Ponder, Osler’s managing partner and chief executive, will be the recipient of the Toronto Lawyers Association’s 2017 Award of Distinction, as announced in a recent article in Law Times. Ponder has practised at the firm since she was an associate in the 1980s, beginning her career as a tax lawyer and then moving into securities law where she made her mark as one of the country’s leading corporate and M&A practitioners.

When they don’t get promoted, they move to Fortune 100 or NASDAQ listed companies, who are four times more likely to promote Generation X to management.

Ponder has expertise in the business of law – law firm strategy, governance, recruitment of senior level talent, profitability, business development and client relationship building. For her contributions to the Canadian legal industry, Ponder was the recipient of the Toronto Lawyers Association’s 2017 Award of Distinction.
