Biography

Andrea Doucet is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Gender, Work, and Care, Professor in Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies at Brock University, and Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University and the University of Victoria. She is the author of the award-winning book Do Men Mother? (2006, 2018) and co-author and co-editor of several other books on care, intersectionality, and responsible knowledge making. She writes commentary and consults with governments and international organizations on parental leave policies and care/work policies. Her current writing explores connections between care crises and ecological crises. She is the Project Director and Principal Investigator of the Canadian SSHRC Partnership program, Reimagining Care/Work Policies and Co-Coordinator of the International Network of Leave Policies and Research
