Biography
Dr. Ele Chenier is a non-binary professor at Simon Fraser University where they research and teach sexuality studies, with a particular focus on the history of the treatment of homosexuality, including modern day conversion therapy, the history of lesbians and lesbianism, and the history of same-sex marriage. An award-winning writer and teacher, they are also an expert in equity, diversity, and inclusion. During their tenure as president of Academic Women, an organization of more than four hundred female faculty, Chenier authored Radical Inclusion: Equity and Diversity among Female Faculty at Simon Fraser University.
