Biography
Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens is an internationally-recognized adolescent dating violence researcher. She began working in the area of domestic violence research during her undergraduate studies, and since then has conducted numerous research projects in the areas of domestic, sexual and dating violence, bullying, and youth suicide prevention, holding over $20 million in research funding to date. Today, she works alongside school, community and youth partners to create new research on promoting healthy relationships and preventing violence. Her work has been recognized by awards from the federal government, the Government of Alberta, and multiple international societies.
