Biography

Dr. Paola Marignani is a Full Professor at Dalhousie University in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with Cross-Appointment in the Department of Pathology. She conducted postdoctoral training at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, the Ontario Cancer Institute, Toronto, Ontario, and at Harvard Medical School in the Division of Signal Transduction. Marignani is the founder of Canadian Women in STEM (CDNWomenSTEM) which is focused on building a national strategy for equity, diversity and inclusion in Canada. CDNWomenSTEM is networked with 2000 self-identified scientists from across the STEM spectrum, and supports the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) #DimensionsEDI initiative that was ratified in 2019.
