Dr. Agata Soroko is a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Riverside. Her current research looks at how we can make democracy more responsive for young people in a context of injustice. Dr. Soroko received her PhD and MA from the University of Ottawa and completed her undergraduate work at the University of Toronto. Her doctoral research was awarded the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) as well as the Larry Metcalf Exemplary Dissertation Award from the National Council for the Social Studies (United States). Dr. Soroko's work has appeared in academic journals such as Teachers College Record and Theory & Research in Social Education. Before her academic career, she was a secondary school teacher and an education assistant.
